the question is valid

i would ask, 'how could someone hold out for so much for such a bad domain?'

there are great ccc.com's that have many applications and you know there maybe many people one day who will give a fair price, but if you owned this, if someone offered 5k, how do you rebutt them and hold out for this corn, with a domain that may never sell after this offer expired

amazing luck and balls combined

The more you don't need the money, the higher you can hold out for. Guys like Frank Schilling and Rick Schwartz can have fewer sales but get top dollar for each one. Candy.com set a new standard in my opinion, by getting a % of revenues and a portion of any future sale of the domain.

Rick was a legend many years before this and ireport, but the factors you mention for candy are truly amazing that he demanded.

PLUS

let us not forget on BOTH sales he didn't agree to any nda. he got this info out there. helping the domain industry and proving he pays his taxes lol
and ireport was to a monster player. i bet their lawyers were insisting on an nda. but he does have howard as a back up who is a very smart legal guy also

full respect to him

do we agree he's never wrong?!
