It's possible to change contacts and ownership for domains in the 1&1 control panel, but is it possible to "push" a domain to another 1&1 account? Also, what happens when the contacts are updated and ownership is changed? Does the domain remain in that account?

Does anyone know of a way to export domain information from their 1&1 account? As it stands, the control panel does not display reg/renewal date info, which is very inconvenient. I've had to do whois lookups on all of my domains and hand code them into a spreadsheet.

Thanks in advance -

If you think a push is tough just try a transfer away which is virtually impossible to do due to complexity and also because it appears they first cancel your domain name registraton before they allow the process to proceed.

1and1.com has the most non-intruitive features and extremely odd policies of any registrar out there by far. Simply amazing they have been so successful.

To push a domain, the new owner has to initiate the domain transfer i believe.
to transfer , ring the support, they wil talk you through it.
it wasn't as bad as i thought. just transferred a dot com to moniker.
because i rarely use my 1and1 account, can't remember what i did.
just done a .eu & that was crazy, initiating through eurid etc. pain in the arse.
let us know what you find as didn't think it cost to push
cheers

I've got around 500 domains with 1 and 1, been with them over a year. I'm very happy with them except for what you describe. If you find a way or anyone else knows could you help us out. Their control panel is very nice, one would think it wouldn't be that difficult to list the expiration dates.

They are good about sending emails before expiration and they also auto renew. I have found one way to check your expiration dates using cancel.1and1.com. For the most part your domains are listed in the order of expiration and you can also check status.

1+1 control panel is total rubbish. I repeat: you get charged for a push to another 1+1 account holder, but there is no charge for transfer out. therefore if you are a domainer then the only way to get a sold name to another domainer is to transfer out unless someone pays for the push fee. leave 1+1 they are crap.
