EDIT to headline. Did't sell for 10 million euros.
Money was for a 14% stake !!!

Well, all the N-N-N.com have sold out now.
Just in time.
N-N-N domains just got another huge shot in the arm
1-2-3.tv just got a 10 million euro investment for just 14.4% deal
Sure for the website & business as well of course
Encouraging thing was they chose to develop in first place & not even a com

Enjoy

nb: now what did i do with my N-N-N.NET available list

Look. The guy registered a .tv, what more proof do you want that they have money to burn? These puppies cost whatever the .TV registry feels like PER YEAR.

And the guys behind 1-2-3.com were late grabbing 123.com I guess ;)

I love it when you guys jump from one dead dodo to another; first .mobi then dash-dash-dash LMAO

Of course they're not buying a domain name for that .
Nice that they chose to develop & make a succcess of the name though.
The backers are investing in the domain, website & business that is 1-2-3.tv

well aware of .TV registry. Thanks
As it's hyphenated i'm guessing it was regfee, about $25?
I'll check in a bit

without doubt. of course you buy the non- hyphenated first. i expect theirs is worth a pretty penny. even more now. few type ins one would imagine

LOL
you have to bring .mobi into everything?
plus only a fool would call it a dead dodo, and i know you're not one of those
as far as trends, you need to look forward AND back
I thought the NNNN was a nonsense & many others.
We all live and learn & go by our choices

That was some funny shit. I'm offering $300 for 4-3-4.com if any of you clowns own it.

Late registration game, somehow i dont think that internet users would
even see that as they are not domain holders.

Knowledge is the key if i knew nothink about domain names then would that
stop me form visiting a LLL.com to a L-L-L.com
Most new and even old internet users are still not sure what a LLL.com is,
they only use them because of the services which is offered to them form
that LLL.com site so it should not differ for a N-N-N.tv /.com site.

What domainers dont see is that the pubilc dont care about hyphens what
you give them they will use. if i branded a L-L-L.com do you think the pubilc
would not use it if i had a service they wanted to use ?

To have more knowledge on any given subject than any other person can blind you form the simply solutions.

its all about end users and internet user not the domainers

my 2 cents

For those that haven't seen article.
Just a bit of 'industry news'

Premiere Invests €10M in VC-backed Auction Startup 1-2-3.tv

premiere.jpg

Premiere, the German pay-TV broadcaster, acquired a 14.4 percent stake in VC-backed 1-2-3.tv, as Der Spiegel first reported last week. It is not clear to your a:c euro reporter if it was a capital increase or buying old shares, but DowJones later confirmed the transaction, reporting that it was a €10M deal. (via visavis ).
Our calculator says that’s a €69M valuation for the three year old TV auction startup, which had a turnover of €67M last year, and has raised at least €32M in two rounds. It claims 500K customers participating in its daily dial-in consumer product auctions which are broadcast on cable and satellite free channels and on its website. Premiere will now also be adding the channel to its ‘bouquet’.
The venture has Munich-based Wellington Partners, 3i, Target Partners, and Iris Capital backing it.

Pred, stop pimping out the dashes :D

Just tell us when you get to sell some of you L-L-L.com, or N-N-N.com's to resellers for more than the reg fee, yes resellers, not end users ;)

But kudos for the efforts anyway, good luck :)

Cheers Michael LOL
I wonder if Pimpyourdash.com has gone? Or should it be Pimp-Your-Dash.com  LOL

Even Pred couldn't stage a N-N-N.tv part percentage sale for xx million euros.

Or could he?

NB: can do better. already sold a L-L-L.com for $1500 to an enduser that uses it to redirect to their word-word-word.com
whatever next? LOL

What are domainers and end users who come online in 2007 and after supposed to do if they can't afford the LLL.com, NNN.com or genericword.com? The Ferrari dealer and the Honda dealer both can make a living serving different markets. Most end users and business owners don't think like domainers. I just saw two ads flipping through the newspaper yesterday, one was for a LL-LL.ca and the other a word-word.ca. Domains being used for businesses with dashes, and not even .com's.

Pred I remember when sextoys.info was available and I was like screw it.
You've proven me wrong before. Problem is with threads like this, whenever a new niche is being discussed, those in the know have already purchased the those worth investing in.

MG, why is it important to post sales to resellers instead of posts to end-users? The reverse argument I can understand as it shows the probability of the domain being used but sales to resellers is just passing merchandise around and is not news worthy surely.

Mind you that is disapointment speaking as I haven't sold one yet! :(

all the N-N-N.com are gone, so it's now left to the aftermarket to find the price range.

as for the 5,000 or so L-L-L.com left to reg, the list does look very picked over and the days of getting all premium letters are gone (to hand reg at least). So you have to decide what is the best of the worst that is left, and right now it's hard for me personally. I'm sure there are some gems left in there, some languages favor X and Z, and so on, but if you're only looking to pick a few up it's hard to decide. Someone noted at the rate they're going, they'll all be taken in 25 days. Unless someone comes in and picks up a few k at once, or the bad names just end up sitting there and it drags on longer.

BTW, these are good names for law or accounting firms, where there are three partner names in the title e.g.: Bernstein, Kappa and Young; B-K-Y.com (just an example, don't know if this domain is even taken)

because that would indicate the reseller price ;)
You can sell the crappiest domain to an end user for a good price if they want it, but that doesn't say much of the reseller value of the domain.
Although I do agree that L-L-L.com's have some end user potential
