http://www.whatismyip.com/ - what a joke:

"This domain name is
currently up for auction on ebay.
Don't miss this excellent opportunity."

The figure it got was definitely a fair amount for it. How many sites do you own that have 60,000 unique visitors every day, with an Alexa of only 9,000? A site that huge is almost never offered for sale on eBay. Fair sale amount, but we'll have to watch the whois to see if it changes hands.

At $386,100 with all 83 Bidders Identity Protection, I doubt it very much....

Now this looks like its potentially an excellent buy but is it really?

WhatsMyIP.org CLEARLY states:

PLEASE do not use any automated software or scripts to load this site over and over.
It is becoming a big burden on my bandwidth. Thanks.

Now this shows to me that there seems to be a problem with this. Out of the 1.7mil visitors, how many of those are automated?

Hope this isn't the case and its a great buy for the new owner but come on, why dont they have any advertising on it and then sell it

Wow, that is a great domain with incredible traffic. There is lots of potential with the site. Obviously the owner did something right. Did you see the number of views the actual eBay counter tallied? It seems legit, I guess we will have to wait to find out.

most of my auctions are private (and they are not scams) , i make them private to protect bidders from spam and scam artists.

my advise if you are worried about an auction being privat ,check out the sellers feedback an contact seller and see why it is private.

If you look at the high number of 83 Bids and its very steady upward progression of the prices you get the strong impression it is real.

Wow, i own ipaddress.biz this must be worth a small fortune..
