if it was me i would have not sold it for 9800 to them. the guys are big and can afford to pay alooot more.

I agree with that. i guess if the seller was from here (UK) he would have recognised the real value of 118 247 as it is the best directory enquiries operator in the country.

I thought that you can not trademark numbers?

Which is why AMD etc could use 386, 486 but not pentium which could be protected.

Correct. That's one of the nice things about numeric domains. Numbers are "purely descriptive" of quantity and only have secondary meaning if you add other words. All numbers are as "generic" as the most common words and can't be claimed as "exclusive" to any one product. You can have 528 of anything, but only one company can sell a "BMW 528i".
