Total Reg. fee ~ $90.

Is it just me or do you agree that at least one of these is likely to make it so as to pay off the reg. cost for the batch (plus some)?

Heat,

They're great generics. Now, PROMTE them to people and organizations that might be interested in them. You'll get back your reg costs a lot sooner that otherwise.

Thanks Dave for feedback & advice.

P.S.

Strange thing happened. I went thru eNom first. Had to refill my account to reg the names. Everything went as usual except that after posting them here on the forum I noticed that I didn't get the e-mail confirmation. Then I realized that all the names were still available!! No transaction record found at eNom but my $$ are "gone" per my account balance that's being reflected now. Had to get the names in hurry thru Go Daddy. Will need to straighten it out with eNom. Do they have a "live" customer support like Go Daddy? Did anything like this ever happen to anybody else?

Yes I can explain. this.
.us names (since you have to preconfigure them first etc) may take a bit longer to "go thru" with ENOM as with many other registrars. As you know Neustar administers all .us domain names.

My experience has been about a 20 minute delay after hours and or weekends on .us reg's.

When you went thru GOdaddy, apparently it beat ENOM (or maybe it didnt..) IN any even, one set of reg's should only go thru at the end. Logically, it should be the ENOM set, because you initiated to process first with ENOM.

If GOdaddy beat ENOM, what will happen is ENOM will return a "domain(s) unavailable" error and you will be re-credited your money. Oh btw, ENOM was experiencing a "burp" before I went out earlier so......

let us know if it happens otherwise.

I d like to know if it does.

Are you going to develop any of them?

Thanks Manic for your optimistic note. I regged these since some of them I also have in .INFO or .BIZ while others I felt would fit well with the tld (.US).

Re developing any of these....may be. But if I'd the time and technical know-how I rather be working on many others much more worthy of development....such as Automotive.US; AutoRacing.US; Getaways.US; Outdoors.US; Themeparks.US; Caribbean.Biz; Printers.Biz; Cigars.info; Broadband.info, etc etc....As you can see my work is cut out for me. I'm actively seeking partnerships for development and slowly but surely hope to get there... :)

Sorry - I see no resale potential in these.

If they were .com, they would be marginal. In a new ccTLD - I would never have regged them. Hope I am mistaken.

Best of luck.

Bob, I appreciate your candid input based on your experience. It helps gears ones future actions/regs. One mention I'd like though is that for all these names I not only checked the stats (Google, Overture, etc) but also if they'd established sites in .com versions (most do) along with the relevancy & specificity of the names with .US as tld; e.g. Information/Agriculture/Communications Law are highly targeted and specific for US Law in these areas and the thought was that any (US) law firm specializing in these areas would probably be willing to pay a few hundred $ down the road to get one of these. As I noted above, from a speculator's viewpoint, all you need is one decent sale to cover the reg cost of the batch....but again, my speculations have hurt me before!

This is very true. And all you need is one good sale to cover regs for a long time too :D :D :D

Also, as you state, this IS "speculation". Not everybody will agree with opinions and thoughts. Sometimes people see something in a name that others do not. That is what speculation is all about.

Best of luck. I hope you sell them for a couple k each!

Now that's not fair Bob; I try/pretend to be a "speculator" not a stock trader from a couple of years ago....:D
