That one is reserved, as are e.g. us.ca, uk.ca, etc.

You should check with CIRA at http://www.cira.ca/en/re_whois.html:

Domain: ca.ca is not available
01043 Domain name is restricted.

Congratulations! Mine is a C (chinatrade.ca), so I got notified at 1:26 p.m.

By the way, I haven't heard from the registrar yet; as usual, I hear from CIRA directly way before that.

The weird thing is.. i got notified at 12:11 by cira.. havnet heard from register either I guess just some registers submitted their lists faster then others.

I've seen .CA domains registered by people from all over the world.

As for all those that dropped, I didn't really try for many. Most that I wanted got renewed at the last minute

yes but if you alert cira of a domain registered to someone outside canada it will be deleted. when you order a .ca domain you have to agree your a canadian citizen.
