Had to part with a few of my .us because of this also.
Not sure when prices went up, this was late April when I had to renew.
Was able to get a few bucks off using the downforce promo code, but couldn't help beyond that.

Just looked at the homepage at GD and new regs are now 5.99???
On another board it was stated that an account manager could lower the renewal cost to 7.99 but still....

If you are an Executive Account Customer, your renewal price is $7.99 for .us names Your Account Manager can process your orders for you at this price. Our Domain Discount Club features .US renewals for $5.99:

If you do not have an assigned account manager, or would like more information on the Domain Discount Club, please call 480 463-8385 and we can review some of the program benefits and answer any of your questions.

Thanks Adam, but i renewed them yesterday as they were going to expire soon.

i've had gd account for years, so i don't know why gd raised prices without notification or why your account has to be upgraded to Exclusive or why you gotta be part of some Domain Club... just to get reseller renewal rates.

even with the promo code i used, still paid $10.63 to renew a .com

spent $56.00 to renew 2 .us domains, 1 .com and 1 .org

that's an average of $14.00 per domain, which is $6 over the average cost at other registrars like fab, moniker, enom, dynadot etc..

the final bill after discounts was :

Special Savings: -$5.07
Subtotal: $56.43
Total: $56.43

"domainer-unfriendly" imo..

I think you can always use the dnf2 code and still get great rates...

Was under the impression that DNF2 worked only for .com renewal/new reg?

I believe the renewals are about 7.39 or something like that. My account rep finds me the best codes for the other extensions.

If anyone would care to share the .us renewal code, I would greatly appreciate it.
