HI,

I have been reading here and there about not being able to register anything less than 3 characters for .orgs now. Especially after they expire. I was looking for the exact article stating this, and also looking for some feedback from other members on the possible value this may add to these type of domains.

According to my calculations there are 1008 different 2 character and 2 letter possible combinations. Can anybody verify this? I am no math wizard.

My personal opinion is that they should drastically increase in value, due to the fact that they will actually be rarer than any other 2 char domain. Any comments? Thanks.

Yeah, I was thinking the same. I guess it will depend on how many actually expire, and if there will be a way of telling how many have been eliminated....

orgs are generally priced lower than .com and .net, because they're usually used by non-profits. There are 1296 possible 2 chars, and I know of 8 have been trashed so far. I don't think that have a great impact to the value, yet.

But if you go to PIR, http://www.pir.org/whois/ shows the names are not registered, and the names aren't resolving to web sites. So I think Names4ever is not aware of the 2 char restriction. It's too bad for the registrants.

Thanks all, for your input...very interesting stuff here!

It's a real shame for:

75.org
ac.org
fs.org
mw.org
nq.org
o7.org
qd.org
yo.org

Keenly noted that these are mostly 2 letter.
