Moniker.com ran the auction at T.R.A.F.F.I.C. West 2006 Conference; sold around 50 premium domain names for more than $2,000,000.
Moniker.com, a domain management company, today announced that it sold more than 50 premium domain names for more than $20,00,000 in less than 3 hours on Thursday, May 4th.
This live auction was held at T.R.A.F.F.I.C. West 2006 conference, the domain industry's conference which was held last week in Las Vegas, NV. Moniker.com says that this demonstrates and validates the growth and value of premium domain names and the increased attention by companies in building value in domain name portfolios.
Examples of sold domains and prices include Sex.net at $450,000, a largest '.net' domain sale ever, cd.com for $275,000, POS.com at $250,000, WaterfrontProperty.com at $80,000 while Programmer.com for $65,000.
"These domain sales are further proof that quality domain names have real value - just like real estate," said Monte Cahn, CEO of Moniker.com. "The domain industry is experiencing hyper growth as companies recognize the value and importance of building and protecting the domains core to their brands and their businesses."
