1. I have 460 posts (461 with this one). If I were to put a domain name in my signature or in my title under my username, would one backlink be created, being all on the website, or 461 backlinks as they will have appeared 461 times?
Also, in this case, would how the links be written affect the effectiveness at all? I.e. "example.com" vs "www.example.com" vs "http://www.example.com".
2. How should my homepage be structured?
While I'm asking these questions for basic knowledge of SEO, my major project right now is a real estate site on which listings would be featured.
Given the following two scenarios, which site would see a higher rank on Google?
- a keyword-filled page describing what the site does, citing the city's name, popular neighbourhoods within the city, and keywords such as "condo", "house", "townhouse", etc.
- an image gallery featuring the listings (which will constantly change) and a series of links on the bottom leading to individual pages for each neighbourhood with unique content (i.e. "West Hill Homes For Sale" - resolving to a page with unique content about west hill)
Obviously from the user's perspective, the first thing they want to see is the listings, but I need a good search engine ranking here.
