I'm trying to decide whether, in general these are worth any substantial amount.

Any Canadians or members who know something about .ca domains have any opinions on the subject?

most Americans cant technically register a .ca because of CIRA's regulations...

Next summer, .ca registration will become very inexpensive and I expect some resellers will look into the .ca market.

Backorders are also very cool in the .ca world - its $30 CAD to place a backorder on any expiring domain name and there is no auction - you place the order first, you get the domain. Now, there is a .ca expiring tomorrow that is a typo of a popular retail website, the typo has an OVT w/ extention of 110.

A typo like that for ~ $24 USD = a great deal for those who park traffic domains

But there are more than 1 backordering services, so the chance of getting a certain expired .ca domain is still ... uncertain.

really?

Is there some sort of list somewhere - I could only find one....

I'll tell you what's retarded - when people who have the ability to choose a .ca name choose the same thing with the .cc extension instead

I'm Canadian and I can't see any value in them. Canada just isn't "big enough" to have a valuable extension. Audience is important. The U.S. has like 9 times the population we do, and even the .US extension isn't going to take off big time. I mean, it will get somewhat big..... but 3 letter .US domains are going for $10 a piece, that's more than it costs to even register a .CA.
