Which one seems like it would do the best? And if you could tell me your reasoning, that would be great.

Cheers,
EZ

snowboardforum.com

I don't like the "sno" or the "er" or the "ing".
It is long but it says what it is (or will be) with no spelling quirks to remember.

(i like sbForum.ws better, and it is available)

snowboardertalk.com is best imo.

Snowboarding refers to the action.
Snowborder refers to the person performing the action.
Snowboard refers to the apparatus used to perform the action.

I agree with Gail except for the .ws (do they have snowboarding in Western Samoa?).

SB's option was not available and the loss of the "w" makes a massive difference.

snowboardforum.com Most sports forums are named after the sport's "apparatus": Football, Baseball, Basketball etc. You would see BaseballForum rather than BaseballPlayerForum for example.

Hi again.

For some reason I agree with sharpboy. And to see this point of view you must step in the shoes of the person the forum would attract.

For example:

You are a surfer. Do you go to:

SurfBoardTalk.com (Not likely.)
SurfingTalk.com (Most likely.)
SurferTalk.com (Perhaps also.)

Now you are a lawyer looking to communicate with others in your field. Do you go to:

LawTalk.com (No. You can study law elsewhere.)
LawyerTalk.com (Most likely.)

And lastly you are a football player. Not a football fan.

FootballPlayersforum.com (Of course.)
Football.com (This could be for beer guzzlers wanting to know how well his picks are doing.)

You see Snowboarding and Football are not the same. Snowboarding is not the popular spectator sport that football is. So Duke, I feel your comparing apples to oranges in this case.

Remember, of the half a million people who type snowboarding into the search engine each month... most likely they are snowboarders who like snowboarding. They are most likely NOT couch potatoes looking to see how their local snowboarder is doing on the score boards. :D

Cheers,
EZ

And all these months I've been talking to domain names - they seemed just like people (well most of them).

I like SnowboardingTalk. Because that's what it's all about. Talking snowboarding.

Pick one, develop it, point the other two to it - then ask the members what they prefer :)

When picking a name forget what folks LIKE. What sounds catchy, cute informative etc is not at all relevent to what a person searches and I see a person searching the snowboard forum.

I don't think the surfing analogy is relevant. SnowingTalk.com doesn't sound quite right. I'm still with snowboardforum.

The best idea though was the suggestion that you alias the other two names to it.
