301 redirect help

when adding a .htacess redirect does the entire instructions need to be on one line ?

like this :
Redirect 301 danielboone.net http://www.danielboone.net
(enter)

or :
Redirect 301 danielboone.net
http://www.danielboone.net
(enter)

also .. does it make any difference if Frontpage extesnions are installed ?

I just used cpanels "redirect" option ..it added this :

Redirect permanent / http://www.danielboone.net

but dosent seem to be working correct ..

any help is appreciated

I fixed it...

Redirect permanent /danielboone.net http://www.danielboone.net

works just fine

Ok Now it isnt working again...

Redirect permanent /danielboone.net http://www.danielboone.net

I was seeing www.danielbone.net show up in my address bar..but now it doesnt..

anyone spot what I am doing wrong ?
