Is this true? I can't believe they want $35 per name to transfer to another registrar (GoDaddy in this case). I always though that you only pay the registrar you are transfering to (GoDaddy charges $7.75 per name). From what I read on their site, they charge $35 per name to transfer to another NameBargain account, but I want to transfer out of there.

No. Registrar transfer (OUT) is free at NameBargain. Don't worry, just initiate your transfer at GoDaddy; but you will need to acknowledge that at NameBargain as well. I've done it A LOT of times when I moved MOST of my names out there last year (sadly though I'll be doing another mass exodus out of GoDaddy in coming weeks  ).

No, that is incorrect. No fee to transfer out to another registrar. $35 is for ownership transfer within NameBargain plus it requires notarized paperwork be sent to them.

They do need to get a clue.
