"Schwartz: ...The domain business is just starting and it will be another decade before it hits maturity. So there are plenty of ways to still make your fortune with domain names. Those that think they missed the boat need to learn from another guy that thought he missed the boat in 2000 and now makes $36 million annually..."

Yea, I like to know who he's referring to also.
I thought RS says he's making like $2 mil a yr. in that Bus 2.0 article.

Is that in rupiah?

Mole, you've got to hand it to this guy (if he is indeed who R.S. is referring to). 300,000 domains is at least 2 million in yearly renewal fees alone.

I am impressed with a guy who in the year 2002 decided that his best strategy is to blanket the domain market on a truly global scale (before someone else did it) by registering every possible non-registered (until-then) overture searched term (above 1,000 monthly searches)

From nobody in 2000 to the world's biggest individual domain player in 2005 - that's an impressive feat.

Sure he had money to do it, but he also had a vision to believe in his move and the guts to proceed. Not only that, but the guts to be paying thousands for third-rate domains in drops.

Very seldom do figures given in public about earnings tell the whole story. There may be significant Cap-ex (capital expenditure) tied to those earnings, meaning the figure isn't anywhere near to the net income.

Yeah he has to pay out a ton of fees to manage 300k domains. It's full time just managing 500 but multiply that by 1000x has to be something else. I can't even imagine his admincp login. :)

Also that's 36 million this year....but in 5 years that could easily be 100 million!
