.com .info .biz and even .tv are registered.
Personally, I think .net is at least as good as .com for this name.

What might it bring in?

I agree with you, I didn't really mean it literally.
It's just that I think that it really fits pretty good with that name.
But like you say, .com is always better

What about 4G, 5G..etc...

Names that expire with technology are not safe bets...

Ericsson is already manufacturing 4G phones...

Pretty good name. Works well with the .net extension. I have 3gTechnology.net. I think 3g will become a household word as the services expand and companies start building their names around "3" and "3g" because it sounds good and modern. Give it another year or two. 3G is a branders dream describing a whole technology, not just one aspect of technology or one single protocol.

4g technology is still at least 8-10 years away, if not farther, plus, it doesn't sound good at all.

I think your name has very good potential.

3-5k maybe more - depends on how things fall.

It is a good name, but not long lasting.
I would agree with doberry - one season name, unfortunately.

I've been posting some 3g names for a while and never really
got any "bites".

The name you selected is a good category, but it's a .net.
As a matter of fact, it was on my list to regg for last month.
However, I'll suggest these to you.....

"3gDataNet.com"
"3gPhoneNet.com" $20 DNF Bucks.

I went ahead and registered two 3g's, will do a post!

as Tee mentioned, this is not a season name

4g is plenty of years away, so that is not an issue.
also, I personally think 3gnetwork.net sounds better than:

3gDataNet.com
3gPhoneNet.com

I am offering 5% of the price I sell it for to the person who can find me a buyer

Yeah I agree. I think 3gnetwork is much, much better. Even with the redundancy of network.net, it still is pretty good.

Those two other names imo are example of the bandwagon phenomena. Soon you will see people asking for appraisals of 3gIcecream.com or 3goliveloaf.net. I think there are only relatively few good names with any technology or industry and 3gnetwork is one of them.

I hope you'll read the other post on 3g as well

I think you should wait a little while, 3g isnt really here yet. Its just getting started. Don't be in such a hurry - you could get a good price for this in the near future.

Doberry,

4G wont be out for ten years..

The 3G rollout isnt about "phones" it's about the network ..the infrastructure to handled increase speed and bandwidth..the 3G rollout is still in it's infancy ..BILLIONS have been spent and billions more are being spent to build this infrastructure..

this is my old 3G site..

http://web.archive.org/web/20010925143457/http://www.3gdomainnames.net/

I sold my share of 3G domains..did ok with them.. ..and let a lot drop (couldnt wait any longer) but still own 3GSP.cc ..

The reasonalot of these telecommunications stocks are taking a beating is directly related to the HUGE investments in this rollout.. you are just now seeing 3G entering the end market...among the most exciting are the 3G VIDEO capable phones..

You seen some of that during news reports coming out of Afghanastan during the bombing..

imagine if the the people on the planes that went into the towers had video phones...we would have seen the terror, the terroists,

Imagine going down the highway and you see some guy swerving all over the road..obviosly drunk.. diall 911 tell dispatch you have a drunk and point the phone (with it's built in camera) at the drunk.. cops see immediatly what the problem is..

The wireless game market will boom as these 3G networks are rolled out.. you are seeing the beginning of it now...

But now it is clear 3G domains need to reflect more on the servcice side instead of the retail side.. you are not looking for 3G phones ..you are looking for videoPhones ..

But you may look for 3G service providers or 3G networks .. so it isnt exactly dead...just need to zero in on whats going to fly and what isnt with 3G domains.

You are correct though about registering names that expire with the technolgy..but only if the life of that technolgy is short term..3G is NOT short term.

Ice you need to contact orange and such...

3G is NOT short term.

After reading some more material I still think that 3G is just
a transition phase to 4G, which should be here to stay much longer.

There are many disadventages of 3G which are to be solved with
fourth generation.
This doesn't mean I ain't enthusiastic in 3G, but it should be taken into consideration and properly valued.

options, certainly they can make any adjustment and start calling it the next generation 4G..(when in reality it is 3G technology) ..

A generational change means that just that..

4G will even for the most part will ride on the 3G infrastructer.. but a name is only a name and even just for marketing purposes to seem "fresh" certainly ..they can change on a dime..

nothing is ever in stone..

but until that happens ..it's going to be 3G thats gets the headlines..

along with trying to sell to the 3G networks.. why not set up a site a sell 3G network "calling" plans? great affiliate money there I would think..

You see those plans popping up now..this is the time to get in...
