Hi

are your asking about a specific domain, or "the four letter .com" category, in general?

for example what is the value of sqaz? upyo? eoso?

for example someone is selling LRFR.com for $300 bucks and other kdzi.com for $5000

why?

why?

because in this capitalistic industry we call domaining, one can "ASK" any amount for their domain.

doesn't mean it will sell for that price, but it's the owners prerogative to exercise

still, there doesn't have to be any rationale for the price.

the letters don't have to mean anything or nor be acronyms to abbreviate urls.

the only limit to pricing, is the belief in a guide and past sales history.

for the discerning buyer, beyond the domain being an actual word, they will look for stats or meaningful usage for the domain.

however, the more knowledgeable and skillful they are, means they will be less likely to follow premium letter philosophies in their decisions to purchase.

which means, letters in a domain you see as non-premium and may overlook because of what you've read or been told.... may appeal to another because they buy based on experience and may know something (not you specifically) you don't.

imo....

I would distinguish between 3 categories:
  • real words: mice, mate, doom, polo...
  • brandable domains: kawa, dino, lama...
  • random LLLL.com: they could be acronyms (possibly in Chinese or whatever :))but that doesn't work as well as LLL.com or LL.com - so that depends, you'll need to do some research as to the possible end users (and need a bit of luck too).
For a nice CVCV brandable domain you could expect to pay low $,$$$ and up (very rough idea).
For a real word, that depends. LOVE is great, DOOM much less.
For a random LLLL.com: many are not worth the regfee in my opinion.

Look at reported sales too, and also on the forum :)

Have seen quadruples like LRFR.COM sell for 1000 and up with the right buyer.-Those are keepers.

-KDZI.COM and others are often purchased by foreign end-users where z is more used and you can win the lotto with someone with a name like Kadazi or Kodozi who'll want it for personal use.- Have seen it happen but he won't get anywhere near 5000 unless the letters make the initials of a person's name or business or there's some meaning attached to the domain.
