Site History: The domain was initially offered here for $100 with my claim that the keywords "tax rebate calculator" were top 100 searched keywords on the Yahoo, Google and MSN network - which still remains true...
Domain offering was largely ignored and in late Feb we developed and lauched the site and reoffered it at $700 with no sales revenue. The again at $3000 with proof of sales revenue. This last offering here is to show what this domain has done and is worth for the benefit of those who may still have doubts.
The Calculator we made was also distributed through WidgetBox.com and is currently installed on 152 other sites and blog.
For the 1st month the site was ad-free except for ads by URLsponsor.com which essentially sent ad traffic to my other network sites. This was great was it increased sales and traffic for all other sites.
We started monetizing on the traffic by adding adsense in Mid March - yet did not optimize ads. After final tweaking and addition of Zango sponsorship - in the past 15 days the site has pulled in $540+ in ad revenue.
Here is the break down: (screenshots and complete proof links avaible only by PM to members I feel are serious and safe to deal with)
Adsense: April 30 - May 14: $146.87
Zango: April 30 - May14: $322.90
Note: I must add that this seems to be my only site that Zango has worked on. The others don't seem to provide the content that makes people want to click-thru and install zango. This seems to be one of those lucky premium content offerings that people seem to want to click-thru. My other sites have generated no revenue from zango and zango has been taken off them as it lowered total traffic and other ad revenue sources.
TheNewsRoom.com: $0.58 *video was initiall at bottom of page, not at top - getting hits...should have been optimized placement long time ago - a mistake...

Site gets tons of natural search engine traffic. Use to come mostly from Google, then Yahoo, now MSN and Live search. Screen shot can be shown to show keywords used in search and frequency. Additional advertising by way of the R9V.com network has brought in traffic.
But...most traffic has come from the enormous amount of back links
The TaxRebateCalculator.com widget can be found on NBC and FOX affiliate sites (Do Your own research...too much info to list)
Link to TaxRebateCalculator.com has been added to tons of MAJOR online news sites as addition to their articles about the economy, stimimulus package, tax rebates (Do Your own research...too much info to list)
Adsense ads was recently in the past 2-3 weeks embedded directly to the TaxRebateCalculator.com widget - so that the ad is in every installed widget on other sites - increased adsense revenue greatly.
We have not taken too many measures to promote the site further - this would be ideal for someone representing a tax related firm or someone with a large network of sites - that can focus on bringing more traffic to the site - we just depend on the natural traffic - but more traffic would simply mean more revenue.
I simply have too many sites to take care of, I am not making the most of this site - I dont have the time to do the little tweaking here and there to keep increasein ad revenue - we havent even bothered to resell tax software directly from the site - which could mean an extra $500+ month...
The domain name is prime generic for the Tax Industry. The major firms have lost soo much traffic to this site. Also, a visitor for me may only mean some change, but for a tax firm it could mean a new account that can bring in thousands in revenue/year off one client.
My price is set very low for those in the know...It is reflective of revenue and domain names.
There are few sites that require little work to run other than promotion and generate this much rev. Adn this site will continue to gain value every year.
This is not simple a site with a crappy domain that we've managed to monetize, this is a Premium Generic Keyword domains with incredible natural search frequency that has been developed. The domain will just continue to gain value - regardless of performance of site.
