Remember zl.com at $43k? That was an even bigger shocker at that time.

Ummmm not alot of savings here guys, they averaged 75k+ USD the last yr before the down turn. Only around $10k+/- off, if. In fact only 4 reported higher the last 2 years ( 22/25/49 and forget the other ).

I sold 93.com for 75k last may and everyone here had a chance to buy so cut the " oh my what a drop " replies, it only makes you look silly. I know of 3 more at or around 75k as well never reported.

being a round number and unforgettable 90 has an an edge over something like 93 imo

also traffic wise, 90 is getting shedloads more than 93 just as an example

alexa ranks are a long way apart

just something special about this one imo

Not to mention a common math term of 90degree angle.

Yeah, sounds better.

Both nice.

Gee, where are the pundits who would say,

I think in the next couple of hours we will find out much about the state of dot com for the domain investor.

or

one of the better dotcom domain names out there.

Does this mean the sky is falling for .com?

Or, there was not that much interest in it.

I think when examining such name Pred you have to ask yourself soe harder questions.

1) Why does it get traffic ( source ) and will the use of that traffic infringe on a mark. In that case I dont care how much more traffic a name gets. If the result is a name with big traffic and now limited use it was a foolish reasoning to pay more.

2) Why in the world is a round number more likely to be used by an end user. A number if used lines up with a product or service, I see no evidence a round number does better. I think one of the reasons for the down turn in price is people opening their eyes up to such non sense. Sure we know top 10 this and that, 007 for bond and so forth but come on, it is the stupidity of man that would dictate value based on this, in fact that was evident with 11.com recent. It took a nuttie professor to make it worth more.

Congrats to Jack and the buyer. A real bargain even in today's market.

I was the 2nd high bidder. I have a slightly higher budget for this one, but I decided to pass since another domain owner sent me a quick email reply with a very reasonable asking price which helped me to make the decision. I have to move on to stay away from the bidding war. :)

I am afraid the real market is still decending.
No good news on global financial crisis.
