Do they really represent minutes?

I thought they were just different heat settings (Low, Low1, Low2, Med, etc..).

+/- heat + equal time = different levels of toasted..ness

But they aren't heat settings! They are minutes! Give it a try!

1 = 1 Minute
2 = 2 Minutes and so on..some toasters may vary, but they are all just a time variable.

4 = bread
5 = warm bread
6 = charcoal
7 = charcoal
8 = charcoal
9 = charcoal
10 = fire hazard

My God, I just wasted 2 minutes and 13 seconds out of 2013 to see "close enough". We only have 525,600 minutes this year!
