The $5.1 million sale of Toys.com last week continues to draw mainstream media attention to domain names. Yesterday it was The BBC, today it is ABC News. I was interviewed for both stories and, in a new Lowdown post at DN Journal, commented on how the media spotlight is helping raise domain awareness on Main Street.

Duke, thank you.

Great exposure for the domain industry -- will help attract money from the sidelines --

It's pretty cool to read how the media is almost "encouraging" the domain industry in this article.

It's nice to read about a huge sale in the mainstream media, without all the typosquatter/cybersquatter BS for once.

Thanks Ron for the info....its really nice to see stories like this on major media without the inference of domainers being shady characters. Now what we really need is a few major stories that would shine a welcoming light on the domain industry and talk about it being a legit biz and good for the internet.

It's getting closer and closer that everyone is starting to realize that money is in other realms and not just the offline world..
It's exciting to see these types of sales.
