Last nights (Thursday 4/19/07) ABC Nightline program had an interview with a Go Daddy representative about some of the awful domains that have been registered this week at Go Daddy including VTKillings.com and some other lovelies. Many are for sale at ebay with 'Buy It Now' prices from $25-500K. I couldn't find anything about this segment at abcnews.go.com/Nightline/ but that may change.

My personal hope is that those who register names like these make what they deserve to make: ZERO. May ebay charge them plenty for the listings!

Thank you for posting this, I'm on the West coast and read this thread an hour before the show started, I recognized every one of those auctions because I've been reported them every day for violations...its a repulsive act that many on this forum think its OK.

There is a heated thread about this subject already on DNF
http://www.dnforum.com/showthread.php?t=222732

I suggest you add your post to it so were not jumping threads.

Thanks again!

A friend of mine said he heard this issue being discussed on a talk radio show he listens to. He said the show's callers were bashing domainers for being "bottom feeding scumbags" and "lower-than-low profiteers". Not just those domainers who register tragedy-related domains to make money from them, but all domainers who make money through parking or reselling -- anything but developing useful websites with the domains they register.

I'm always having to defend what I do (domaining) because many people seem to believe that those of us who buy and sell domain names for profit -- no matter what those names might be -- are doing something unethical and should be prevented from doing so.

OK, let's have some fun in the wake of this tragedy - and maybe do some good in the process - - I just registered BottomFeedingScumbags.com - where should I point the domain? We'll make a list and point (or redirect) the domain to a new place daily - Suggestions Please!

I've already found at least one victim's name registered as a domain and being offered for sale at Sedo. Why not just rob their dorm rooms and sell off their personal belongings?

Unreal.
