How can you say base an ad price on "potential" traffic?

I dont think I ever said "base an ad price on "Potential Traffic" Basically if you dont want to be involved than dont be. If you look at the site, check out the stats and come to the conclusion that this site has potentail then get in on it now. I am mearly predicting that this site will be successful.

I am asking a legitimate question. I am trying to figure out ways of ad placement and fees.

You would have to tell me where on the site and the ad size for me to come up with a price. You can PM me for more details.
Thanks!

These prices are based on 125 hits per day. These prices are per month. The prices will be increased once the traffic on the site increases over time.

There will also be a $10 set up fee. Thats how much my web designer is going to charge.
Thanks!
David

125x125 sidebar $10

250x125 sidebar $13

250x250 sidebar $15

468x60 banner $7 (top of category pages, search results and single posts)

300x250 bottom $10 (homepage)

180x150 bottom $10 (entire site)

SInce the site is on track to have 3500+ this this month ( so far in 10 days it has 1200 uniques) the prices above will be where I will start out on. So to answer your question a 125x125 will be $10 per month with a one time setup charge of $10.
Thanks!

@ Dot Com - Are you asking me to price your ads on your site for you? I am confused. Why are we talking about your site in my thread?

You appear to have developed some type of formula for pricing ad space on your site based on traffic or anticipated traffic.

This is something I have not done.

Yes, it is your thread but you seem to be having a handle (or is it an arbitrary forumula) on how to price.

It is a learning opportunity.

If you feel it is inappropriate, then I will remove all my comments.

I had a little help. My web designer proposed those prices based on experiance with alot of sites. This is what I would be looking for once/if the site starts getting 10,000 hits per month:

125x125 sidebar $25

250x125 sidebar $30

250x250 sidebar $35

468x60 banner $20 (top of category pages, search results and single posts)

300x250 bottom $25 (homepage)

180x150 bottom $20 (entire site)

I would rasie the prices again at 50,000 hits (Double) and if the site starts getting 100,000 hits per month prices would be in the $100.00 range per month (Depending on which ad placement and size of the ad.) - This part is from what I have been reading and seeing what big site owners are charging. Obiviously if no one buys them at this cost I would have to drop the prices.

No need to delete any posts. I am not offended I was just confused on what you were asking.
