I am a bit confused about the google TOS and poker pages.

The TOS states that you can not use adsense on gambling related websites but i have heard a lot of people saying that this is only if you actually can play on the site. And that sites that only provide information about gambling can still use adsense. I always been very sceptical to that approach but i thought i should ask anyway, adsense does after all serve poker ads.

Adsense is supposed to only show informational poker ads (for poker chips, books etc) but they say the occasional real money ad slips by them.

To be certain you're not breaking the T&C contact google. You could also try www.7search.com which do 'adsense' via www.accessoryad.com and allow gambling terms, therefore their bids get higher than google (over $4 for some poker terms).

I haven't tried them myself, so I'd be interested to get any feedback

"Site may not include:"
"* Gambling or casino-related content"

My interpretation is that gambling or casino-related "content" is not allowed.

"Content" in this context to me = text, games, pictures etc...

The best way to find out for sure is to email Adsense and ask them, they will tell you straight up if it's allowed or not. If it's not allowed they will ask you to remove; which is a lot better then having them just cancel your account come time for payment... it at least lets you look for an alternative rather than lose a months revenue.

Yep, it's better to have Google just tell you it's not allowed or that you need to change/re-word something; rather than have them not pay you or flat out cancel your account (could equal lost money on any of your other websites you may use Adsense on.)

I've heard of a few cases where it was truly a gray area and they simply asked the client to re-word or add a disclaimer.

It's certainly worth emailing them IMO...

I had ask Google for this matter sometimes ago. They said that they do not allow content that is related to gambling. Or maybe it is just a courtesy since adword accept that type of ads!

I've seen some times which are basically How-to and information sites about poker, they run adsense and seems not to bother Google.
