Which site is the best for selling domains? Any ideas, opinions, or thoughts?

What is the best technique on sedo. Do you do featured listings? And what is average sale time. Thanks!

Suggestions on best techniques would be great. Such as featured listing etc. also other selling techniques beyond Sedo that works great. Furthermore if you want to share success stories even better! Lets get this forum rolling!

None of the above. I think your own parking page is the best way to appeal to serious buyers.

that's interesting mole.
I did that for a while, and sales werent too good.
Of course, I didnt use any of the good software out there to make a better presentation of the names.

The reason I prefer sedo over my own parking pages are:

1) people see the hits per month and trust them more than the data I would give out
2) a lot of people actually go to sedo and search for domains on sale there
3) I like the fact that its 'brokered', ok, one can always use escrow
4) You get PPC traffic (again, that you can do on your own, but not as easily)
5) it is very easy to manage.

What are other's experiences on using their own parking pages?

I hate to make negative comments about Pool. But, my experience with
Pool's MarketPlace has been terrible.

They don't notify you when it is sold.
There is a 60++ days delay in getting paid.
No potential of PPC income.
You have to pay them to list the name.
You have to transfer it to NameScout if it is not already there.
You have to release ownership to them while they are selling the name.
They have had a number of fraudulent credit card transactions.
Plus, they have a lot of junk listed on their site.

So, their marketing strategy needs to be re-done.

so why is it that pool realizes that it is important to have the domains *they* want to sell at namescout while when they catch em through their registars, they leave them there for you???

It's ok for them to leave you to an African or far east registrar that doesnt have an English web site, but not If you want to sell???
Pure nonesense. That's what pool is all about anyway. (the catchers not the game).

I personally dont use featured listings. Only sometimes when i want a quick sale and the name is worth atleast above 3-5k.

Depend on what your targeted buyers are. I'd suggest to put up your own for-sale page and also list them up on Sedo.

Sure, some more work is involved (but only a 1 time cost) and having your own server helps a lot. But the benefits are if you make your own small for sale webpage all you need is a little content (sometimes even the title and description tags seem to be sufficient) you can then put Adsense on the page and likely also get much better PPC income than you would get from others, IMO. Also likely better SE positioning too as an extra benefit.
