WASHINGTON—A set of handwritten notes picked up by the Navy SEALs who killed Osama bin Laden prompted the government to warn of potential al Qaeda threats to the U.S. train network, the first known use of intelligence gleaned from the raid.

In an "intelligence message," the Department of Homeland Security alerted law-enforcement officials that initial analysis of evidence seized from bin Laden's compound shows al Qaeda hoped to attack trains in the U.S., possibly on the anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.

Any reason why the Seals didn't take the rest of the inhabitants for interrogation; these people who had supposedly been living with BL for months or years? You'd think that'd be a no-brainer really, wouldn't you? And the photos of the others killed - why have those been released but not ones of the Big Cheese? And were those guys taken for burial the same way as BL? Why has the official story changed yet again, now they're saying that only one of the inhabitants fired at the seals - bit of a difference from 'a firefight that lasted 20 minutes'.

There are more holes in this than the teabag I just used for my morning cuppa. If more people believed what they KNOW instead of what they're TOLD, the perps wouldn't be able to get away with such stuff.

Jasdon, unfortunately international law (yes I agree international law is a joke) would have looked on taking them as 'kidnapping' and would have opened up a whole plethera of problems, these after all were not US citizens. It might sound daft but killing someone is less of a problem than kidnapping them in legal terms in this kind of instance.

I know some will say it would be worth it, but once again the agencies involved would have seriously considered the possible benefits gained against the possible costs, and as none of us are privy to all the information available we have to either accept that the possible costs outwayed the posible gains in this instance, otherwise we again just start second guessing without the information on which to make reasoned decisions.

What about the inmates at Guantanemo? Have they not been kidnapped - many went years before being charged (maybe some still haven't been?). How about murder? Isn't that a teensy bit worse than kidnapping? Todays story (until they change it again) is that only one of the inhabitants fired on the Seals - there are photos of two bodies - no-one knows what if anything those guys were guilty of. Isn't that murder? Holes, holes holes.
