Alexa battering

Why are lots of sights taking a huge alexa battering ?? i have seen sites go from a top 5k rank down to 60k DNF has gone down from 4k to 20k......

Does anybody have the answer ?????

It all depends on who is using the Alexa toolbar. Its really a virtually useless metric to be honest about it.

what do you expect?

Do you really think some webmaster, domains sites are really in the top 5K or 20K. Even now.. it is very skewed/wrong.

Alexa is in the process of changing their ranking metrics. They are counting other variables besides the toolbar... that is why a lot of tech/webmaster/domains/seo sites are way down.

I still think it's way off. at least by 5X. so.. DNF should be in the 1XXKish... if even that.
