i was kinda bizzy this morning at work today and after lunch i checked sedo and there was another offer waiting for a different domain

this domain i've had a few years now and have offered it for sale in $$$ range to various members in response to their "domains wanted" ads.... but never got a sale on the forum.

the domain was listed at sedo, with a fixed price in $,$$$ range

the offer was $,$$$

so i immediately accepted

now just waiting for payment

Is this your first "fixed" price sale?

Sorry, not clear on this.

I was under the impression that a fixed price was shown for the viewer to purchase, as in a BIN.

I was not aware that they could exceed what the fixed price was.

Unless, they had made the offer through Sedo without knowing the name was already posted on Sedo???

yeah, sorry bout that....how or why would they exceed asking price anyway? duh!

but suppose they offered same amount as asking price, would the seller still have opportunity to counter-offer?

if so, then if the seller could increase the price, and if that amount is met....then the original asking price would be exceeded :)

From my understanding, if a domain has a fixed price on Sedo, that is the price that someone searching Sedo would see and have the option of purchasing at the price seen.

I have been told that this is non-negotiable. But, I can understand if someone does not see this amount entered and submits an offer, then of course I would imagine it goes into and offer (vs fixed) and would be negotiable.

As for sales, I accepted an offer on Sedo this am for 500euro that I also had posted for sale on this forum for 95 bucks.

sometimes value can be seen by others, when missed here

BTW: got paid today, so that was a quick sale ;)

Personally, I think the agent handling my account has never been less than 2 weeks completing the sale.

Many of mine have dragged on for 30 days plus.

I perhaps hold the record waiting 94 days to get paid for a sale.

Yes, I have complained about this to my agent and my account exec but it seems to fall on deaf ears.

As a buyer, I have had deals completed and name in my possession under 4 hours.

When I deal with other transfer agents (with me as the seller or buyer) I have seen numerous deals completed within a day or two.

Then I see a particular person's name on the agent's notice and I can figure on a 2-4 week timetable.

That is pathetic to be that predictable.

Not often I get to quote myself, but that sale took 12 days to complete.

On the positive side, had another sale last night.

But I am always a little hesitant when I see someone's join date of April 2010, in other words, just joined.

In the process of closing another sale on Sedo.

I have done something that may be against the norm - I have actually increased the minimum offers on all of my listed names. Now the minimum is high XXX.

I wanted to further eliminate lowball offers. Negotiating a price can be very time consuming and wasteful. If an offer is made at or above the minimum then I at least feel the potential buyer is serious.

All in all, I can't complain (in terms of completed sales) as I have had 8 sales for the year-to-date on Sedo.

Excited to say I've just closed my 11th sale via Sedo already for the year.

Without revealing too much of the finances and for the sake of non-disclosure, the domains are comprised of:

6 dot com (of which 3 are LLLL.com)
2 dot net
2 dot mobi
1 LLL dot info

The lowest sales price has been 350euro (no, that wasn't for one of the mobi's)

Even if you do not park with Sedo, I encourage you to list your names with Sedo.

There is no guarantee of success but obviously people are searching available names on Sedo.

I have many names parked with other PPC companies and have had no offers through them.

However, I have had many private sales and I have no idea if the other PPC claiming the name is for sale has actually led to a sale.

Clearly, exposure of your names are a big part of making sales.

Congrats :)

Two questions.
What's commission for domain sale that is parked at else where?
Do you list your price or just say "make offer"?

I believe the commission is minimum $50 on everything now.

And all were simply make offer.
