like yesterdays - yee.com today it is ayi.com for a BIN of $1300!

Same setup - new user buys a bunch of 1 cent items to get feedback then lists domain that doesn't belong to them. I contacted ebay but they are useless to say the least. yee.com was purchased yesterday but the buyer was so flooded with people telling him it was a scam he was able to stop the deal.

i called the real owner of ayi.com and he said they tried this not long ago with the same domain.

The owner did sound at first pretty happy somebody was calling about his domain - ayi.com - which is for sale... me thinks there is a good deal to be found there! I would have made him an offer but i'd have to give up one of my two loves - my car or my soon to be wife.

keep the car. Easier to find another wife that way. Unless the wife makes enough to buy you another car.

Ebay is really frustrating in how slow they are to respond to scams. They really give the impression that they don't care. I have to wonder if they understand that fear of fraud is their #1 most dangerous long-term business threat.

Could you post the ebay link so that we block the seller's id?

By the way, they don't just buy cheap items to run up feedback. They highjack accounts that already have feedback and use them to sell fake items. My brother woke up one day to find several e-mails for successful completion of E-bay auctions. Problem was, he had not started those auctions.

There is no point blocking the sellers ID. He will be back tomorrow with a different one. It would be as useless as blocking a spammer's email address.

And just like yesterday - someone bought it (ayi.com at bin) before ebay pulled the auction.

Someone should go to the media about this. It's not like Ebay wasn't told by numerous people that something was wrong! It would make a great story and would hopefully get ebay to smarten up and protect buyers.

I just went to ayi.com and the owner has posted this....

"The Ebay listing for the sale of this domain is fraudulent.
This domain (ayi.com) is for sale for $130,000 USD.

Please contact [email protected] for more information."

How do you figure that there is a good deal out there for this one? $130k is rediculous!!! HAHAHAHA

I think one day a buyer who gets ripped off will figure out that ebay had been informed of the fraudelent auction and did not take timely action. When that happens, it will develop into a class action lawsuit and you will not want to own ebay stock. Pity they are so weak on this issue. Because other than that, I find ebay to be a great idea and a great service. Ebay alone has revolutionized several industries. Antiques, collectibles, books, You go into some of those stores these days and they are doing 75% of their business on ebay.

To all who sent email asking about the domain yee.com.

The YEE.COM domain is NOT for sale, it is a fraudulent listing on eBay.com.
eBay's Security and Fraud Prevention group has been notified, but have done NOTHING.

This is the 2nd time this has occurred in the last 12 months. Neither last time or this time has eBay done anything to stop the fraudulent auction.

If you have any advice on how to stop this please let me know. Otherwise, please feel free to contact eBay directly if you wish to report this auction as fraudulent.
