I'm finding Investor's edge and TDNAM to be a real pain in the ass for doing keywords searches. I have about 100 keywords I'm after but I obviously don't want to manually type them in every day.

I know you can get a TDNAM feed in XML/RSS and possibly parse from there but I can't find any programs for the exact purpose of stripping out all the code and just leaving me with a clean list of names.

Is anyone aware of any tools that can automate searching through TDNAM or investor's edge?

If you want to give me the format, I can make DropShark understand it, strip anything except the necessary information, and allow you to use keyword searching on it.

That is, if I understand what you're after...

Very handy tool, it did strip actually strip out all of the XML from the TDNAM feed.

But I just realized TDNAM mixes the expired name auctions in with the other idiotic auctions on the feed so that really creates more work than going through the listings by hand.

Don't quite understand what exactly you would like to do yet, but sounds like you just need to parse thru an XML document, all the while intelligently excluding expired specific date range(s)...

Which should take all of maybe 20 minutes to throw together. Ive developed XML parsers for quite some time... using .NET - hell, you could even develop an aggregator to parse thru that shit on specific schedule, drop it all into a db, flat file, register them on the fly... yada yada yada..

PM if you want one.

Cheers

Funny you mention that I was going to buy dropshark anyway.

1.
As far as I know, its impossible to get GoDaddy's entire drop list (investors edge). The list can only be searched 1 keyword at a time. Very annoying.

2.
I want to search TDNAM for my keywords but it has the same problem, you can't download a list you can only search 1 keyword at a time. Also very annoying.

I *thought* it would be possible to automate the searching using their RSS feed and striping the XML out, but since they mix Offer/Counter offer and BIN auctions into the feed it would take more time to sort them out than it would going through the pages by hand.

So I guess, I just need a raw list of domains that are expiring, onhold and pending delete at GoDaddy.

Yeah, sounds like it would be difficult to separate-out the list. That's too bad.

Yeah the folks at GD can be real boneheads sometimes. They should realize that if they make it a little simpler to retrieve the full list of domains in their auction, then it will only result in more bidders and subsequently higher bids. And more money for them. Duh!

And it would be so easy to put up a zip file just like Snapnames does. Honestly I just get the impression that the folks at GD are not that technically savvy. It just blows my mind!

I guess enough people have to bug them about it in order to get it... but that is assuming the person your bother at GD/TD about it even knows what the hell a bulk list is.

There are way too many names to wade through there... but if it hurts the auction prices overall due to a lack of bids I guess it isn't necessarily a terrible thing.

You can open the xml file directly through MS Excel. That way you get clean list of domains. :D

Thanks for the tip. Just gave it a try and the domains were placed nicely in their own column.

This would be a nice dropshark feature actually. The ability to read RSS feeds for drop auctions and run them through my saved searches. TuCows drop auctions are available by RSS now too.
