Any Ideas Why Google Would Index Only 6 Pages Out Of 106 Submitted?

Maybe it doesn't like your submenus.
Also you have links that spread across multiple lines.
Example:

        <div class="pageTitle">
            <a class="pageTitle"
                 href="http://hearthealthrecipes.com/capellini-with-tomato-pesto-recipe.html"
                 target="_blank"><strong><font color="#008000">Capellini With Tomato Pesto
                 Recipe</font></strong></a>
        </div>

Don't think the bot would treat them as invalid/broken links who knows.

Also add a proper sitemap to make sure all relevant pages are crawled.

It's all duplicate content, the navigation is awful and I bet you have a huge bounce rate.. Those are what Google calls indicators.

You have way too many links in the submenus.

If you read the google webmaster guidelines, it says to keep your pages to less then 100 links. You have easily exceeded that number.

Install Google Webmaster tool and submit your sitemap. Also use the fetch as Google features to get your link indexed faster. But there is not guarantee that your pages will be indexed if the content is bad or the URL structure is not good (too long, contain too many special characters, etc.).

I think you would need a complete On page SEO analysis to fix all the problems.
