If you are approached by a film company to purchase your domain, don't get greedy. A few thousand (usually less than $5K) is all you'll probably get for it. Otherwise, they will move on and use another alternative. Just some words of wisdom from someone who has overseen several of these types of sales. I can't get specific though...

Um... yes. You just admitted you registered the names for the traffic that the movie is going to generate. Those names are as good as gone.

Movie names don't carry any protection with them. There have even been numerous movies with the same exact name. Don't take poor advice from people who tell you that the name is as good as gone. Each movie has a specific advertising budget, and if you think they would rather spend more money on a dispute than on acquiring the name then you are mistaken. You will NOT lose the name in a dispute, so just get the most out of it that you can.....a few thousand should be enough for everyone to feel good about the transaction.

What planet are you from?? Dispute action cost about $1,500 and they are resolved usually within a month. That's not even close to being a fart in any movie's "specific advertising budget".

If your name is Shrek5.com (or contains any previously "familar" movie reference) of course you will lose it in a heartbeat. If their movie and your name is GenericCrap.com than you stand a chance for a few g's.
