Anyone Know about Music Sites ?

I want to start a music site, nothing fancy, just a place people can come and download free music, anyone own one of these or know how i go about starting/purchasing one ??

Im guessing ill need a db of music.

Who's music are you going to be offering for download?
How will you get the copyright or ability to distribute it?

Will you be able to monetize the traffic to the degree you may need for your bandwidth bill?

These are very important things to think about.

I don't know the legality of it...but I like the idea of sharing concert videos that you can find on YouTube.

You can get music many places...but good concert videos are so much better...less legal headaches too

the bandwidth im not worried about, i dont know about the copyright/distribution rights, i see quite a few sites out there allowing songs to be downloaded, does every one have rights ? doubtful, but if not why do they not get in trouble. lets take ez-tracks for an example, pretty highly visited site, heavy traffic, yet i doubt they have distribution rights, how do they get away with that ?
