Such a bummer that the auction isn't being broadcast for all to listen to as it goes on. Anyone actually at Internext wanna keep us all updated with what's happening at the auction? I'm sure I'm not the only one that'd really appreciate it.

In the past, people have liveblogged the Moniker auctions and/or continually updated forum threads... If anyone's got a link to such, please post it!

good luck everyone with domains in the auction!

Moniker's website just updated to give a link to listen live -- but nothing's playing even though the auction supposedly started 15 minutes ago. Moniker's live update page isn't updating with any info, either.

We're supposed to be able to listen live here:
http://marketplacepro.moniker.com/auction/moniker_radio.html

Anyone having any luck with that?

It looks to me like 59 domains were sold in Live for just over $600,000 total, a huge drop frim the last Internext which I believe surpassed $2,000,000. I think many of us saw within the first hour of posted sales today that it wasn't going great. I have no idea if there were many buyers present at Internext.

Maybe Moniker will open up the Silent auction for us to view the progress??? The auction ends the 9th. Does anyone have access?

Simply Useless !!

IMHO these style of auctions are overrated - I'd rather buy/sell on places like AfterNIC, SEDO etc because everyone or anyone can Join/Watch/bid from the comfort of their own space

I have a friend with a domain in the silent auction - i'd be interested in seeing how that is going too --
this auction just isn't getting the BUZZ the last one did -
Maybe they're having too many auctions too close together.
Maybe they need a new name selection process.

The auction did great considering that there were 4 competing events going on at the same time. $704K worth of names sold and the silent should be good. Its a niche auction so the the results compared to TRAFFIC will be lower.

If you were a previous bidder, you can have access to the silent auction for free. Just hit sales up at [email protected].

thanks,

Hopefully we will see the big players bidding on silent, I doubt very many attended this auction, since Domain Roundtable is only 1 week away. Also, attendance to Internext is decreasing every year, these conferences are nothing like what they were 5 years ago, It would be interesting to know how many attended this auction.

well .. maybe there were 4 other things going on - but if you wanted to buy a domain name you would go to the auction .. not the other things.
It must be a disappointment with 3 - 7 million estimated ... I feel bad for the people that were urged to lower reserves to 'get interest' in the bidding - and then maybe had their domains sold for way less than they should have. Good for the buyers though - looks like some bargains were bought! Maybe that'll parlay into more buyers interested in the next one (thinking they'll get another bargain)
As I've said before - there was very little buzz about this on the adult webmaster boards. Not much excitement generated. Part of that should have been done by the internext people though.... and by people with domains IN the auction .. can't totally fault moniker for that one.
The GEO auction should be an interesting one - it's niched too, so may be smaller $ total - but should be a GOOD one. IMHO
I like the auctions - I think they're great publicity and opportunities for some people, and it's great that someone is doing it. They also increase the value of my domain names :)

It will be VERY interesting to see how the domain roundtable pans out with it's different way of picking names and selling them. I'm predicting they have a winning combination - lots of buzz - lots of excitement - interaction - friendly responsive staff and lots of good names and low reserves. Plus you don't have to pay $$$ for the privilege of bidding :)

It appears the only Silent domain with an alleged bid is TopTravelAgents.com at $1180.00
That might just be a seed bid to get the database rolling. It has nothing to do with Adult.

Yes $299.00. We are looking for qualified Buyers, as many as possible. Sellers are updated via the Moniker Website and forum posts or by emailing your moniker AE. All bidding happens in the final hours. therefore the bandwidth needs to be alloted to Buyers.
We will announce the results ASAP after the Auction close.
