Wow, Israel.com and America.com for sale. Can you imagine having the funds to purchase both of those names. America.com should fetch over 10 mil.

Is America.com as good as a more targeted name like NewYork.com?

There should be more press about this name being up for sale.

Definitely worth many millions... but I think there are more value to domains such as fund.com. America.com is too general for any particular type of businesses. I would guess 5 millions. Where is the auction going to take place?

Well if Israel.Com is going for 5.5 M, and Korea went for $5M a while ago. I would assume America.com would go for at least 50M

This is more of a "bragging rights" domain. The buyer will probably be a billionaire that just wants to add it to his/her stable of luxuries ( Oprah or Bill Gates perhaps ? ).
If I were a billionaire, I'd easily shell out $20 - 30 million for it.....

If the US govt doesn't buy it they are absolutely missing an important opportunity....

We sometimes forget that America is a continent or two, name after Amerigo Vespucci.

How can you sell a .edu? You'd have to sell a university to do that!

It all depends on the reserve. If they put the reserve at something like $10M then it might not get many, if any, bids. If they put it lower, $4M-$5M then there will be crazy bidding, even beyond $10M.

A smart political candidate, or an individual that supports one could be interested in this one.. Plenty of people out there with big bucks to gain or lose if one candidate or the other wins/loses. What a marketing tool this would be.

$15m

I don't think it will sell either.

Also, when was the last time you heard an English speaker call the United States "America"? Maybe a stereotype but I'm of the opinion that non-English speakers say "America" more often than English speakers (who use the more popular "USA").
