I am in South Florida and we are debating about getting AT&T U-verse. This will be out phone, tv, and internet on one bill. Apparently, AT&T has a new fiber optic setup. Plus the pricing is a bit less than Comcast.

My question is does anyone in south Florida have U-verse? With my Comcast cable internet, I have not experienced any downtime in the last couple of years except for 5 minutes here and there. I mainly use the internet for business with a little gaming on xbox 360. I have hear U-verse ping's are a little higher than with Comcast.

:?: Not sure if I want to dump Comcast internet for AT&T U-verse.

I think it's still too new to give a prognosis as of yet.
I have a few clients that have gotten it. Most have been satisfied, all residential though. They do go down from time to time. One has a problem connecting to his office vpn after installation, have to go see what's causing it, although we do know it has to do with the uverse. I also assume it will be affected by where down here you are. I've seen 25 meg connections on it, can't say if that's all of them though. I just have issues dealing with bellsouth/att at all. For years I have wondered how they stay in business with their horrible customer service.

Comcast customer service is horrible. I haven't had any problems with AT&T yet. I guess I will see how it goes. I can always cancel within the 30 days if I don't feel it is up to my expectations and their advertised speeds.

The TV looks awesome. I can't wait.

If they give you 30 days, then might as well give it a shot. The only thing I would worry about would be switching the phone number back if you decide to cancel. Do they give you a static IP with it?

Well the phone number right now is with AT&T landline, so I wouldn't think it would be a problem to switch it back. I am home the day they come for installation, so I will have to ask them everything then. If something doesn't seem right or I don't like something, I will not have them install anything. So far my in-laws have the internet and tv and it seems to be working fine for them, so I don't anticipate any problems.

I have always kept a landline and decided for the price to switch to their voip for the price and free long distance. Plus, it will cut our phone bill in half and save a bit on the cable bill.

We'll see how it goes.

QFT on the Comcast part - they're horrible here.

As for AT&T - we ditched them when they bought out Bell South. Bell South was great and then when they became AT&T they started to take 5-6 weeks to cash our payment but would still turn off our service if we were late and charge us a reconnect fee (so I'd have to send in my payments 5-6 weeks in advance?).

We just have our cell phones now for phones.

That sucks.

I use ePay or whatever it is called on our banks website. Most payments take 2 days to deliver. If something isn't delivered in time they guarantee the payment and will cover any fees. I usually pay our bill a week or two in advance. Haven't had any problems with our payment (knock on wood).

I guess we'll see how things go on Tuesday.
