Domain receives around 1000 visitors from being typed into the browser each month.

I recently had an offer for $100 from a corporation and asked them for a serious offer as it earn more than that in revenue. I am now wondering if I should spend the money to get it appraised. How I thought I would get some comments on what it may be worth here before I make the decision to spend the money. If they respond with a better offer I will spend the money but to me $100 was just the action of a tire kicker and not somebody serious.

Thanks for any input,

Ed

Don't waste your time on an appraisal, waste of money. Very nice name though, pm me your asking price. I may be interested.

As Mike says - NEVER EVER buy an appraisal. Great name if you can build it out!

There's at least one aviation marketing group at LinkedIn, perhaps someone there can help you.

I'm not that interested in selling, as it has earned me a steady income over the last seven years. I am more interested in it's value since this corporation has expressed in interest.

However their interest may have been an attempted scam as I told them to please make a serious offer and that I only sold through sedo.com, using their escrow services. It's been a couple of weeks so I don't really expect to hear from them again. :)

Regards,

Ed

Thanks to all who responded. I'm not that interested in selling this domain since it is a constant money earner for me. Why sell it for 10-12 months income when it has earned constantly for seven years and will do so indefinitely into the future?

If I get an offer I can't refuse, of course I would take it. But I doubt that will ever happen.

Asking for appraisal, willing to pay for an appraisal gave some of us the impression you were selling it, but if I was in your shoes, I probably wouldn't sell it either and develop it into a much better, converting site.

I apologize for any confusion but thought I had explained the circumstances in the initial request. If the corporation comes back with a serious offer then I would need to get an appraisal done to determine how serious the offer was for the domain.

I was trying to get an rough idea of the value of the domain name to make a rough evaluation of their offer if they came back with what they considered to be a serious offer.

I don't expect I will hear from them again, as their offer of $100 for this domain was extremely low ball, just based on current earnings. Plus I told them I only sold through the escrow service provided by sedo.com so they knew they could not scam the domain from me.
