The tiny skeletal hand jutted from the sand as if beckoning the living to the long dead.

For thousands of years, it had lain unheeded in the most desolate section of the Sahara, surrounded by the bones of hippos, giraffes and other creatures typically found in the jungle.

Rich, as an archaeologist I can tell you when you uncover something that has not been seen for thousands of years and you know that in its own way it is totally unique there is nothing else like that feeling I have felt in my other careers. It also REALLY makes you get a true perspective on your life. If you do ever get the chance to go on a dig, especially a prehistoric dig, then jump at it.
