I have encountered an issue with a certain sender of a newsletter, to which I have unsubscribed twice, where they are continuing to send it to me, despite having confirmed both times in writing that I was unsubscribed, as well as verbally today, when I called them to ensure it was cancelled.
While this would have been a slam dunk under CAN-SPAM under US law, I'm curious as to whether any similar feat has been attained in Canada, where one was able to litigate an abusive sender of emails to the point that they might be considered to be spam.
Edit: My intention here is to stop receiving the emails... and if they keep sending them, take them to court over it. These startups will never cease to piss me off at how flagrantly they ignore certain laws.
