Just checked dnsalesprice, but I don't see any big .cn sales. Only a couple in low 5 figures in the last few years

Not for idn.cn I believe ? that is where all the action will be in the not too distant future- already many sales taking place off the radar.

#1 by number of registrations, possibly.

#1 by value or even cost of these registrations, doubtful.

To be #1 by value will take it a few years, if ever.

Yeh kinda pointless thread, I dont think anyone recognizes .cn as anything other than a $0.40 attempt to make china look bigger, and better than it is.

Where I can register $0.40 per year for .cn domains?

Those are just first year promotion prices. And I'm sure the price is equivalent or more to a chinese person than .com registration is to an american.

Most of you are just plain blindfolded. There is actually huge thirst for local domains for 1.6 billion people or so.

The valuation is a different situation. I doubt they will ever hit the .com prices, but something near is not impossible.

Some keywords are already now valuable. For instant I actually hold a idn.cn domain that I could sell for mid-high x,xxx$ resell. I bet most of you don't even have a .com domain of this price category.

btw. I'm not chinese.

if you can get $.40 from me last year, you can renew it at the same price this year, that means two years low price, governmnt does not anounce the three year price.
the average Chinese income is 200 Euro/month,nearly 1:1000
if a .com is $9.99 ,not sure the average monthly income for USA citizen is $9999?

Too bad spammers probably account for a good chunk of those domains.

dnol, to be perfectly honest, the actual picture will only be seen once the promo pricing is over and a year has passed.

By your logic in domain price : average income - .in should be the leader by far ($15:$350), doesn't really work that way though.
