closed 13K

I dumped hundreds of high cpc terms in .info early this year

google ignores them now

worthless for seo

.biz way better IMO for seo

.us ok if you are based in USA

.com/net/org/biz

I'd put a .mobi over .info now

I got a nice .mobi now page one for a nice term in my market

.info's

last year they popped on google

now they're worthless

although they still pop yahoo

I'm not kidding when I say I let probably 500 if not 1000 info's drop this year

I see them all over google's auctions

I don't have time to sell domains for 20 bucks

and that's what most .info's are worth IMO

hehehe

amazing

13K for a plural .info

I can't wait to see who has it

I hope an attorney

then I can sell them some real SEO/SEM services that work

attorney.info

most oversold domain I've seen in a while

but it's great for comparibles if you hold them

me

I'm holding almost nothing now in .info

anything that isn't above 20 bucks cpc I dropped

good for some adwords pop

that's it

---------- Post added at 06:27 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:24 PM ----------

first time I ever got this sedo spam

never lost an auction before

I always get what I want

but 13K for a plural .info

LOL

not for me

so first time I saw this sedo spam after it ended

show me a high value cpc term on page one of google

none

show me some namebio stats showing any .info sold the past year for 5 figures

they don't usually

.info is a dead tld

nominal value IMO

but this sale shows some see value in it

if it can't be stuck on page one of google it has little value

period

that determines the value in REALity

Anyone that is actually doing 'development' to make money on a domain would never part with 5 figures for a .info

It's an 'end user' gone wild

But heck, if you have these keywords in .info and the end users are jumping on them for 5 figures

more power to you

So please, post some namebio comparibles

I don't think they're selling in 5 X range today

And if anyone is seeing .info's hitting page 1 now for google for high value cpc terms

please post the keywords

I had some .info last year high on google

now they're all devalued, nothing is on page one google for .info that I know of for any substantial cpc term

NOTHING

estibot had this at close to 10K

and estibot is never right

so if there's namebio's for the past year

give them up

if there's page one serps for .info's on google for big cpc terms

ok

let's see them

as far I know nothing in .info is hitting page one now for major cpc terms

and the sales are all minor under 5 X's

but if you have namebio stats and google serp's to show I'm wrong

great

I like being wrong on something like this

I still got some .info's I'm holding

but 90% if not 95% were cut loose by me this year

I think the tld is DEAD

thanks rock

so there are some recent comparibles for info in low 5x

like pt barnum said

as for seo value, ZERO on google

but for minor SEM help, none of these terms will do much

but now that some numbers show a low 5x value to .info

ok

maybe I should of dumped my 1000 or so .info's I let expire this year

I hold some still

in fact I bough one yesterday here for low 3x

but overall, I hate them now that they have zero value for seo at google

until google killed the tld last year I was pushing them to clients

let me go contact a few .info owners for a couple of gems I want

thanks

maybe to resellers there's value

to end users

nothing IMO

it will never ever see the day of light on page one organic seo

so no reason to own it

for what I do as a developer

I can get way better seo pop and sem pop from other stuff than a .info

so no major value to me

but if you are 'selling' them, then great

I don't sell my own stuff and anything I'd get involved with usually as a 'broker' has to be a major big buck cpc term

I just don't see any value in them to the end user

but yeah to you, a reseller to end users that think they have value

great

but someone buying a .info for big bucks comes to me

I'd laugh

what you waste that money on a .info that

a. will never get one organic seo pop
b. that doesn't do much for sem/ppc

glad to see 'domainers' raking in 5x hits on garbage

but garbage is garbage

nominal value to me

and zero value for seo pop

and very little value for sem pop

so why own it, UNLESS you are a domainer that can sell them to end users that have no clue

now if an end user puts a .info for a big buck cpc term LIKE WE USED TO DO

ok, they have seo value

but google destroyed .info they no longer pop organic seo for anything with a strong cpc value

there's 5 global tld's I'd invest and one cc before I'd look at .info

unless they're really cheap

I just don't buy them

I can buy 20 .biz's for the same values

and they can and do pop page 1

probably 50 .mobi's and they can pop page 1

so while they got value to a domainer only through ignorance of end users preceived values

in reality, they aren't worth in that range from any valuation model I know of

bottom line is does a name get organic traffic or help ppc

it may help ppc to some degree

but most .info's you can buy cheaper in other tld's that will also add potential seo pop to them

so .biz and .mobi have more value to me than a .info

only form potential development traffic not the value as to what some end user will offer me one day

but if you're making dough with them

congrats

great for anyone making money with any niche

I just refuse to say it has 'value' outside of the value domainers are selling the stuff to end users for

but to end users, very little value and .biz and .mobi are way cheaper and bring more 'value' as to potential benefit to an end user IMO

but they do have nice recent sales

so great for the guys/girls sitting on them

I did like 2K or more of them over the years

and developed some

when I saw them hit page 1

ok, another tld you get some exact name value with at google

when google turned off that switch for .info

I dropped most of my holdings in .info

and I never drop anything worth keeping

LOL

congrats tho if you are banging out nice hits with them

to me a developer and also an investor

no major value

I make my money in developing and leasing for residual income

.info has minor development values so I'd buy the .biz or .mobi before that tld, and I get some cherries in .info all the time

just not at 5x's

I was in on that .info yesterday for low 4x

but once it got to mid 4x

I laughed literally, must have emailed it to a ton of people

look at these nuts on a .info at sedo

I hope it's a lawyer that bought it

I can sell him 100K to 250K a year worth of work easily if he has 13K to throw on a plural .info

I sold a nice geo .info a couple of years ago for $11,5k, but I haven't had any good .info sales worth mentioning since then (haven't bought any .infos either, so maybe that's why).

once end users realize google will not put a .info on page 1 in serp's now for any cpc term of value

no one will buy them

worthless for seo

and no one is gonna brand a .info with millions in advertising

so if it can't hit page 1

a tld has minor value

pretty much a vanity tld now like .co and .ws

those won't hit page 1 either for a major cpc term

worthless for SEO

.mobi

they're still hitting page 1 and if google ever gets around to directing smart phones to .mobi sites done right as a preferred tld for serps on a smart phone, then .mobi is probably the most under valued tld in the world

its global and a minor programming tweak at google could hit the tld with all the smart phones in the world for serps

when google let .info onto page 1, yeah, .info had legs

now no seo value

so the end users are not educated they're buying vanity domains

no practical use

the big 3 tld's are com/net/org

period

they're all good for seo

.mobi is a global sleeper

.biz is a global tld and it can pop page 1

.us top cc tld

.co.uk and .ca strong cc tld's

.ws and .co garbage, but if it's a top cpc term it has limited value for SEM pop for CTR and maybe some QS as a exact keyword match and the jury is out on that for sem on .ws and .co

so .info now falls into the .ws and .co tld's

no seo value and maybe some SEM pop

since lawyers do not pay much for lawyer and attorney searches compared to specialties

attorneys.info is a dog IMO

yet I was bidding low 4X on it

more for vanity use for sales materials only

if it were the singular, and lawyer not attorney, then I may have kept in that bidding war

but a plural on the weaker term in legal (attorney is way weaker in traffic than lawyer if you really do SEM for lawyers you know this) means it was worth low 4x to me

but someone ponied up 13K for it

so the guy in france that owned it

great for him

I want to see who develops it

probably no one

looks like a domainer that puts value into .info still when guys that develop know it's a dead tld

google cut it off at the knees

google killed .info like google killed the local seo company

you see any organic seo on a high value geo serp for any major profession in any major city

no

you see 5 ppc ads and 2 maps usually going to the guys buying ppc in that market

so arguing .info has any value to an end user that knows jack is circular

it has no real world value in that it won't get clicks period

so no traffic no need to own it

yet to a domainer, it has value

some person is gonna fork over low 4X numbers on a tld google destroyed

yeah for how long

when google stuck .info's on page 1 we owned thousands of them

now most have expired, not worth reg fees

so that says a lot when we dump a tld

first tld we ever dumped

we don't get into a tld until we see it can hit page 1

if a tld can hit page 1 for high value cpc terms, we acquire domains in it

if it can't we tell our clients never use it and we won't do development on .info now

no point

zero

and I still have clients on high valued cpc terms in cities like LA on some .info's

the reason

we stuck it on a map

so for a local map, it has minor power still

and that may soon change

I would never stick a .info on page 1 of google today for a map

since we do long term seo organic and maps

so now the guys we did .info for are being upgraded to other tld's just to protect their map listing

so a global serp, theres ZERO value in a .info it won't hit page 1

and the only ones I still see on page 1 are old clients we did when we pushed .info and had them on geokeyword.info's for their market

now I can stick anything on a map, don't need a keyword

but we do long term map seo for clients

so we try to keep it up with a keyword

and .info was ok UNTIL GOOGLE KILLED IT

now we won't touch them

but yeah I was bidding thousands on basically a vanity domain

so my reps can say to a lawyer

yeah we own what you do .info

big deal IF you know seo/sem

but to a lawyer it could have been a nice sales tool

but if I'm gonna put thousands into something I dont want the plural and the worst term

I want the singular on the better term

anyway, for domainers as long as people are throwing nice checks at this tld

I guess it makes sense for you guys to own

but in reality, the real value long term is what an end user will pay for it to be page 1

that's the big money

developing keywords that bring in hugh monthly residuals

so I don't see much value in it

but if my business model was wholesale domaining

yeah it has value for now

just don't put all your eggs in the .info basket

the bottom fell out really once google said .info has no tld power for page 1 serp's on major global cpc terms

I doubt a lawyer ponied up 13K for it

probably a domainer that does zero development

I hope it's a lawfirm

I can sell them real sem/seo services if they got 13K to throw away on worthless tld's for endusers

I like to sell stuff to rich dummies

LOL
