once end users realize google will not put a .info on page 1 in serp's now for any cpc term of value
no one will buy them
worthless for seo
and no one is gonna brand a .info with millions in advertising
so if it can't hit page 1
a tld has minor value
pretty much a vanity tld now like .co and .ws
those won't hit page 1 either for a major cpc term
worthless for SEO
.mobi
they're still hitting page 1 and if google ever gets around to directing smart phones to .mobi sites done right as a preferred tld for serps on a smart phone, then .mobi is probably the most under valued tld in the world
its global and a minor programming tweak at google could hit the tld with all the smart phones in the world for serps
when google let .info onto page 1, yeah, .info had legs
now no seo value
so the end users are not educated they're buying vanity domains
no practical use
the big 3 tld's are com/net/org
period
they're all good for seo
.mobi is a global sleeper
.biz is a global tld and it can pop page 1
.us top cc tld
.co.uk and .ca strong cc tld's
.ws and .co garbage, but if it's a top cpc term it has limited value for SEM pop for CTR and maybe some QS as a exact keyword match and the jury is out on that for sem on .ws and .co
so .info now falls into the .ws and .co tld's
no seo value and maybe some SEM pop
since lawyers do not pay much for lawyer and attorney searches compared to specialties
attorneys.info is a dog IMO
yet I was bidding low 4X on it
more for vanity use for sales materials only
if it were the singular, and lawyer not attorney, then I may have kept in that bidding war
but a plural on the weaker term in legal (attorney is way weaker in traffic than lawyer if you really do SEM for lawyers you know this) means it was worth low 4x to me
but someone ponied up 13K for it
so the guy in france that owned it
great for him
I want to see who develops it
probably no one
looks like a domainer that puts value into .info still when guys that develop know it's a dead tld
google cut it off at the knees
google killed .info like google killed the local seo company
you see any organic seo on a high value geo serp for any major profession in any major city
no
you see 5 ppc ads and 2 maps usually going to the guys buying ppc in that market
so arguing .info has any value to an end user that knows jack is circular
it has no real world value in that it won't get clicks period
so no traffic no need to own it
yet to a domainer, it has value
some person is gonna fork over low 4X numbers on a tld google destroyed
yeah for how long
when google stuck .info's on page 1 we owned thousands of them
now most have expired, not worth reg fees
so that says a lot when we dump a tld
first tld we ever dumped
we don't get into a tld until we see it can hit page 1
if a tld can hit page 1 for high value cpc terms, we acquire domains in it
if it can't we tell our clients never use it and we won't do development on .info now
no point
zero
and I still have clients on high valued cpc terms in cities like LA on some .info's
the reason
we stuck it on a map
so for a local map, it has minor power still
and that may soon change
I would never stick a .info on page 1 of google today for a map
since we do long term seo organic and maps
so now the guys we did .info for are being upgraded to other tld's just to protect their map listing
so a global serp, theres ZERO value in a .info it won't hit page 1
and the only ones I still see on page 1 are old clients we did when we pushed .info and had them on geokeyword.info's for their market
now I can stick anything on a map, don't need a keyword
but we do long term map seo for clients
so we try to keep it up with a keyword
and .info was ok UNTIL GOOGLE KILLED IT
now we won't touch them
but yeah I was bidding thousands on basically a vanity domain
so my reps can say to a lawyer
yeah we own what you do .info
big deal IF you know seo/sem
but to a lawyer it could have been a nice sales tool
but if I'm gonna put thousands into something I dont want the plural and the worst term
I want the singular on the better term
anyway, for domainers as long as people are throwing nice checks at this tld
I guess it makes sense for you guys to own
but in reality, the real value long term is what an end user will pay for it to be page 1
that's the big money
developing keywords that bring in hugh monthly residuals
so I don't see much value in it
but if my business model was wholesale domaining
yeah it has value for now
just don't put all your eggs in the .info basket
the bottom fell out really once google said .info has no tld power for page 1 serp's on major global cpc terms
I doubt a lawyer ponied up 13K for it
probably a domainer that does zero development
I hope it's a lawfirm
I can sell them real sem/seo services if they got 13K to throw away on worthless tld's for endusers
I like to sell stuff to rich dummies
LOL
