Hey guys, thanks for the congrats.
I just wanted to take the opportunity to point out why we were willing to buy it at that price... Traffic. Jobs.ca has a lot of traffic, and thats what justified the price. We followed up the Jobs.ca deal with a purchase of JobSearch.ca, and that has a ton of traffic too (and was frankly a better bang-for-the-buck from the traffic perspective than even Jobs.ca was).
As you know, many great generic .CA domains just don't have traffic. I know that well because I own many of them. Jobs.ca was a big exception to that rule. And strangely enough, JobSearch.ca is a big exception to that rule as well - it gets over 1000 unique visitors each day on its own. So just keep the traffic issue in perspective when buying and selling domains. A name is only worth so much from a branding perspective. So just be smart and analyze your purchases carefully. In my book - traffic is the only real proof a domain is _really_ valuable and will stand the test of time.
FYI - the best place to see what Shaun and I are up to is at
