I just tried to register a domain at namecheap, when I went to check out (after NC confirmed availability and allowed me to put it in my cart) -- it said "banned domain removed from cart"

I did a search on google and waybackmachine and there are ZERO results for this domain.

I went to godaddy and registered it. No problems

As I said there are no results for this domain anywhere.

What is the criteria for "banned domain" at namescheap ??

There are no trademarks or foul language involved.

Have you sent a ticket to Namecheap?

If you have registered it elsewhere, could you say the domain name?

Since you registered it care to share the domain? We may be able to figure out why you received that message.

this happens often at domainsite too, certain combos of words are banned , usually close to some illigal porn site or a site that has rep for spam / spyware.

I registered a name with 'snoop' in it. I really think "snoop" is a ridiculous term to ban.
