I've owned this name for the last 10 years with the intention of developing into a coupon/Groupon type of site just for the San Francisco Bay Area. Where local businesses and service providers could have listings, even have mini-sites of their own, etc

Someone pinged me today , interested in buying it.
I felt the range was much too low, but I am curious to know what you all think.

The Bay Area being very tech savvy, you would not have trouble building up membership with the right marketing.

However, the vastly overpopulated group buying industry isn't going to let another new guy succeed anytime soon.

I would appraise it at $1k.

It is really a crowded space now with some really huge competitors who have tons of cash. I think the value with these names are diminishing quickly. I would jump at that $1k appraisal above but I think low $xxx is reasonable.

It looks like all other extensions are still available.

Thanks to you both for your input.

yah, you know the other extensions thing is interesting, clearly I could have regged them all - but, frankly I don't even consider anything but .COM anymore. Don't know how many other domainers who buy names primarily for development feel this way, but I personally just don't take those sites seriously. I think possibly once in a great while a .NET is a legit site, but there has to be some highly compelling reason to use the .NET instead the .COM, in my opinion, and usually I think it applies to an actual network or a service. Otherwise, it just seems really hokey.
