Any suggestions on how to get around this?

Whenever I use the DRT now and do a mass scan, they kill my internet connection until I stop the program.

F-ing bastards.

This is unrelated to the new router since I decided not to install it.

So it seems like I'm boned and wasted $125?

Odd that I've been able to use it with no issues for a few months and now they're doing this.

Are you on adsl? The reason I ask is sometimes cheaper adsl modems can choke on too many connections. They actually run out of ram.

I am on ADSL but it used to work, now it doesn't. I'd go back to Cablemodem but that is an extra $15 a month (that I don't have).

But, oddly enough if I did reset the modem the connection would come back (I also had a 30 minute outage last night which didn't clear up until after I did that).

I thought it was over but it's back, I was able to scan 1800 domains before the connection quit out. I reset the modem and now I have connectivity back.

We found a solution, we got rid of Bellsouth DSL and picked up Comcast.

$10 a month more (but we're killing our landline, too, saving us an extra $50 a month).

4X faster and far more stable but I did notice that when I am scanning I cannot access secure sites (https://) on other PCs in the network.
