I've used:

10dollar.ca
sibername.ca

Haven't had an issue with either of them :D

Namespro sent out a newsletter a couple days ago featuring a Father's day promotion:

20% off using coupon code FathersDay2007 valid until June 30.

Nice coupon Razor!

namespro is good, so is 10dollar.ca and sibername.com. You can't go wrong with any of those. 10dollar is the cheapest of the bunch unless you are a large customer of sibername or namespro.ca. They'll give you cut rates if you ask as a large domain holder.

I used to use netfirms but they keep my names disorganized a different registrant for every domain, and make it difficult to transfer names. I now use 10dollar.ca they allow me to consolidate all of my registrant profiles and to transfer domains with no problems.

namespro.ca is the registrar i sent my sister and brother to, and friends. Their prices are maybe 1$ more than the cheapest registrars in canada but their service is among the best. Viewing bulk domains is an easy process and security great. They have integrity as well. I also find dns settings arent placed in some drawer waiting to be submitted like some of the older registrars do.

My other favorite registrar is baremetal.com located out west. Integrity is tops, pricing is equal to namespro, security and support are top of the line.

For the cheapest price and security i use 10dollar. Possibly one of the few with bulk renewal and dns setting management. Although 10dollar's price is the lowest by about a dollar I only keep 1 or 2 hundred domains there. I have an equal amount at namespro and baremetal.

If I had to choose a registrar from these three above to place all my .ca domains, I would choose baremetal.com without hesitation.

I have domains with sibername and no-name registrars through pool but I'm always transferring them out. It seems I get penalized by sibername with tbr when I do move them out and have even gotten an email from the owner telling me that people with fewer domains in their account at sibername get second fiddle in tied bids on tbr day. As a result I have used them for tbr 1 time (last week) in the past year. My introduction to sibername was a double dip on my credit card for 200$, when i walked into their office it was a virtual post office on slater.

As for pool. I dont trust them and their shell companies (assorted registrars). I use them on occasion just to keep in the know. I won 4 domains with them the past year and each time the wait for dns settings and control is too long. while they earn revenue on parking with my domains i sit and wait. I phoned them this morning for a domain i won a month ago. its parked on some mass parksite with a direct link to another domain that happens to be very similar to the domain i won.

namespro.ca (A-plus)
baremetal.com (A-plus)
10dollar.ca (Adequate)

the pool.com family (avoid)
sibername.com (avoid)

I was just about to mention that Namespro.ca will give a good discount for new registrations / renewals. No concerns at all - they even supplied quickly several hundred auth. codes when I transferred some .coms to Moniker.

I have domains with sibername and no-name registrars through pool but I'm always transferring them out.

I've also been transferring them out of siber come renewal times, but not because of any issues I've had with them, purely on price...

What I don't get is, the last time I asked them, they were charging $25 to perform registrant transfers - at that price , it's still cheaper to do both a registrar & registrant transfer to another registrar! To gain more clients, they really should consider changing this fee, if they haven't already...

As for Pool, there's no question, they do get results on the TBR, but I can't afford to play there anymore. I used to just put in early bids on names, just so I could be privy to what the closing price was.... And isn't it a little silly, with the resources that Pool has, that we can't manage our .ca's online and have to email/phone them in?

It's too bad for them. They have the potential to be the best thing going. Greed gets the best of them both.

Well, I have about 2000 that I need to transfer.

My issues is I want someone to be able to talk to if issues arise and namespro doesnt have that from what I know.

Namespro usually has quick support, what do you mean by 'if issues arise'? Just wondering if there is anything I should be considering, because most of my names are there.

I've stopped using sibername. I dont find their support knowledgable at all with .ca's and im not comfortable using them after 2 support incidents.

I've siwtched to namespro.ca and im very happy.

10dollar has great telephone support. No 1800 number that I can remember, but when moving 2000 domains a couple dollar phone call is probably the least of your worries.
