If that is the *best* represenative of the .US namespace... that is sad.

Good - glad you forgive me Jalapeno! I registered StartingLine.us earlier today to use to build a .US portal that will link to the better .US sites on the net. (Starting Line gets big Overture and Google numbers so it looks like it will be a good name for this purpose). I will categorize the sites by subject matter (kind of like a mini Yahoo Directory - but limited to .US domains).
I think .US will happen and to help it along I want to start promoting it more by putting some sites on the net. I know of some other exciting .US projects in the works involving members here.
I am starting work on the Domain Name Journal site this weekend (it will be at dnjournal.com). That will eat up most of the coming month then I will turn to StartingLine.us for my January project. Should have it up by the end of that month. Already have a beautiful red white and blue design ready to go! I'll be sure and add a lemurs.us link when I'm doing it.

Hi guys,
Lemurs.us is my site. It wasn't from a template... I'm a web designer and I created the site because of my interest in lemurs.
Although I like the site, I was surprised to have it chosen, too. Since the contest wasn't very well-publicized as far as I know, it must have been the best among the entries ("several dozen" really isn't that many). I'm sure there are better .us sites among the general population of the net, but I was excited to have mine chosen for this contest by Neustar.
