I plan to reg 5000+ domains.
Who's the best registrar for a large amount of names?

Dynadot??
GD?

It's better if I became a GoDaddy reseller??

Suggestions appreciated thanks.

Much depends on what you intend to do with the names once regged.

My choice at this time would be to contact support at Fabulous and see if you can work out a deal with them.

Carter I would agree with contacting a few companies and seeing who is willing to cut a deal for that amount of domains.

Are you talking about all at once or over "x" amount of time?

Let us know who, if any, were willing to play "let's make a deal".

Good luck :)

What are your plans for the names? Are you planning on reselling, parking, developing?

Thanks guys for the fast replies.
I plan to develop/parking the domains.

My question is: I can cut the prices (and the renewal fees the next year) if I became reseller??
Or it's a waste of time?

-security?
-other freatures?

Price & security first.

Definitely shop around - also mention how the registrar has the potential to renew 5k+ domains a yr from you, so the renewal $$ is there

"Renewal Prices" ... Is a problem with most companies... its the renewal pricing that's being ignored.

I personally think its unfair if I own a domain and I have to pay more to renew it then someone else would pay to register it if i was to drop it.... I still don't get that!!!

as far as getting a deal, I had close to 3,000 domains and couldn't get the company I was with to move on price... now I have only a few hundred there(transferred out most)... I haven't tried godaddy but if they want to play "Lets Make a Deal" I'll take Door # 1 :pound:

Carter pm me when you make a great deal and I'll join ya!!!

The renewal pricing is the registrars standard pricing. They offer a discounted rate to register/transfer a name to them in hopes that you will stay with them for years and renew at their regular rate. Just think of it as a 1-year promotional pricing.

Some resellers have tiered pricing such as resellerclub, perhaps something like that is the best option.

The most flexible I have personally dealt with in the past was Moniker.

However, that was when they were still independent and managed by Monte.

It is my understanding that service is not quite what it used to be now.

But I am no longer doing bulk registrations or transfers or renewals.

Good luck in your quest to find the end of the rainbow

Fabulous is very cheap if you PARK the domains there. They are $29.95/domain if they aren't parked. Granted, quantity may make a difference.

I ain't ecstatic about their marketing practices and for 2,700 domains they don't have special prices (OK, a little bit with your acct. rep and coupon codes, coupon codes, and more coupon codes), but Go Daddy's 'Domain Discount Club' is the cheapest that I've found. They probably won't wave the $95 or so fee but 'CATALOG1' will take off $20, I believe. The extension that you want is another consideration as to price vs. registrar.

You really have 5K unregistered domains that you want to register? No matter how rich you are, be careful. I see tons of names dropped where someone decided to register everything with a debatbly cool prefix or suffix. Recently every city known to man dropped with 'Re' in front of it as in ReRockford.com', etc. as in 'regarding', I guess.

I always buy domains!
But with this crisis I've found many expired domains with traffic ready to be reg'd.

It's time to monetize a little :)
