It appears in the example you mentioned that "domaim" would be the better typo of "domain". The best way you can determine this is to check overture stats for the keyword with and without extension for any typos of the name you can think of. If the typo is very popular it will show overture stats with extension and should get some type in traffic in most cases. If the name only has overture results not including the extension, there is a slight possibility that the name could get a few typeins.

Good luck,

John

From what I've seen using sTypo, it seems that leaving out the last letter is usually the best.

No you did nothing wrong ... this is a common overture occurence in which in some cases they will replace your search with the most relevant keyword. I believe they have some sort of scripting that checks for some typos and provides the true keyword results. You will also find in some cases where the keyword is plural that ovt will drop the s and show the singular results of the keyword. Nothing you can do about this.

Yes I noticed this happens to me regularly as well.

I think it totally depends on the name/letters being typed. Try typing frog.com, it's not that hard, since you're only really using your index finger. Try typing quizresults.com, and you'll probably mess up.

What I want to do eventually is get some statistics on what typos do better, as far as ovt results go. I have a membership to ovtdomainnames.com and stypo, so all I need is time.

With sTypo you have to dig kind of deep. If you see a name on TV or on the back of a kids cereal box, try using sTypo. Trying to use it on big domains like Yahoo.com or anything like that is probably not worth your time.
